Christmas Is Here…What Will You do?

Thursday, November 27th

The time has approached once again, Christmas has popped its little head around the corner, and millions of people will be out buying gifts for their loved ones. So I ask the question ‘What will you get out of this holiday season?’. Now its easy to think that you will get presents from various family members, but I’m talking more on a ‘making money online’ level. This is the one time of year when people spend the most amount of money, so its quite feasible that you might be able to get some of that ‘pie’, no? Well, what if I told you that by looking at Christmas a bit differently, you might be able to make even more money than just ’selling’ at people? Sound good?

When we think about Christmas, we think about all the gifts and presents, and all the money that is going to be spent. Now what most people might try to do to cash in on this season, is offer cheap gifts, give price comparisons, and other things relating to the holiday season. Well what we miss out on is, that because the holidays are a very expensive time, people are more willing to take their chances on things that are ‘free’. With the amount of money being spent on Christmas, anything that is offered free is always seen as an opportunity. So how do we ‘cash in’ on giving people freebies?

Well, there are a lot of affiliate schemes out there which offer money for free services. Take LoveFilm for example – they offer a 2 week free rental period for any new subscriber, and if you had referred them to LoveFilm you would make upto $19 in commission. Not bad no? Now to sell it you wrap it up with Christmas ’speil’, saying that family and friends can watch all the greatest christmas movies for ‘free’ over the holiday period, and then you have your sign ups – you get money from the referals, and the customers benefit from the free subscription which they can use to watch some of the timeless Christmas classics with their families.

Now if we expand on the ‘free offer’ thought surrounding Christmas, we can also see another feature that can benefit you – competitions. People are again more willing to enter competitions this time of year for the chance at free things, such as cars, hampers and even cash – so if you wanted to hold a competition some point this year to increase your subscribers, advertise your latest project, or even just out of the kindness of you own heart, this would be the time to do so, as response will be at its highest. I only had this idea about competitions today, and came up with a great way to make money online using it – however it is sadly too late to start my idea (especially as I don’t have my usual computer until the 1st of December), but I have stored it away and will definatly be using it next year to the biggest advantage possible. I will probably share it with you guys a bit later on, so stay tuned, as it could benefit you also.

So I put to you – what will you be doing this holiday in efforts to make your money online? Will you be selling, or ‘offering’? If you haven’t acted yet, you still have time to, but you better ’step up’ as quickly as possible! Don’t miss out!

Dan

Ahh good plan – are you going to be doing it using an automated wordpress setup, or a website from scratch? Be interested to see what you come up with though!

Dan-

Great post as usual, this holiday season I’m going to continue making sure that my blog has quality content, and keep on trying to promote it / increase readership…to hopefully take advantage of these concepts in time for next season.

Let’s be 100% honest, I won’t try to take advantage of Christmas this year to make money online. I am focusing on some other things right now and it is bringing me a nice steady income so I want to continue with that. Next year might be different hehe

Hey fair enough Ben! I think its a bit close to christmas to get any ’solid’ ideas off of the ground, but there is still some time to set up and advertise a couple of sites if your so inclined…

I will just do what I always do, blog to my hearts content, or at least long enough until my wife drags me away from the computer. I know what I should do and that is to update my online stores with Xmas type gifts. Maybe a little later.
