I think your absolutely right there Kristi - hence why I stepped up and used a picture of myself, as opposed to the grey anonymous guy!

There is something about having an avatar that makes people feel like a real person is writing what they believe. There is someone to stand behind that comment, vs. the anonymous little grey guy.

The comments themselves are important yes, but for people who might 'skim' the comments, its good to have a picture rather than a standard 'no picture' gravatar as theres a chance they may stop and read what you are saying :)

Thanks for coming, don't forget to subscribe ;) :P

I think it makes you a bit more trustworthy, especially if its a picture of yourself. It gives you a bit of 'uniqueness' as well, because if you don't have one you merge in with all the others that dont, but by having one it makes you stand out as it were!

funny, never really thought about it, and never really thought about setting up the gravator just for the sake of getting comments, i just hadn´t made that click yet.

more than the power of gravators, i think it lies in the comments themselves, if they make sense and are thought provoking I´d sooner check out that blogger´s site. Also I find myself checking out the commentluv links, especially if the title catches my attention.

You certainly gave something to think about :)
(btw, I got here because of the commentluv on directsaleswebmarketing ;)

Hmm... I've been resistant to getting a Gravatar. I'm not sure why exactly. Maybe I'll have to look into it. You really think having an avatar increases traffic?
