So after reading an interesting post about google analytics from frogstr, I decided that I might actually have a look at mine. On checking, I found something very interesting. Now I don’t average a lot of visitors (lack of advertising really), but I noticed a massive spike on 79 visitors on one day – the 30th of September. I thought this to be quite odd, so I delved in deeper ad found that apparently I got these hits from stumbleupon!

I learnt about this website a while ago, but never put much effort or interest into it. Basically the website allows you to ’stumble upon’ various websites, showing you websites you might not find by normal means. Apparently you can also buy ’stumbles’ which makes stumbleupon show your page to a certain number of people – paid advertising basically. It could also be useful to find new niches and other blogs containing potential goldmines of information!

Now I don’t know how I got this sudden spike on that one day, maybe they were indexing, but I think I might take a look into that for some other advertising – it could prove useful! Has anyone had ay success with stumbleupon? Let me know
