I've done two guest blog posts, and have had one guest post on my blog. They're pretty fun to do and to have done. What I believe is the smart way to go, if you're writing for someone else, is to tell them what you'd like them to cover. Ahhh sorry to hear that, I can associate though, when I first agreed to do the guest post, it took me two days to come up with a creative enough idea, and had to email asking if he still wanted it! lol

The biggest issue I need to get over is "writing fright." There's been a few opportunities on fellow blogs where I could have jumped at the chance to guest post--and my brain just froze up on what to write. Some of the blogs of course, are outside of my niche/knowledge too. I agree with you 100% however on what a great chance at extending our reaches to audiences guest blogging can be, not to mention a great exercise for the brain! M.
